President Nicușor Dan criticizes the Permanent Electoral Authority on Friday, stating that the institution does not understand online donations, is looking for "missing commas in documents" and pretends not to see "visible facts from the Moon," while "not seeing any irregularities in the financing of Călin Georgescu's campaign."

Nicușor Dan reacted on Facebook on Friday after several publications reported in a Breaking News format that the Permanent Electoral Authority had submitted a complaint to the General Prosecutor's Office regarding the financing of his electoral campaign. The complaint was actually made in April 2025, and the information was brought back into the public space following a response sent by the Permanent Electoral Authority at the end of February.

Dan emphasizes that this is not a new news item, but a rehashing of a news story from April 2025.

Meanwhile, Nicușor Dan contested in civil court the AEP's refusal to return part of his campaign expenses, and the institution rejected his preliminary complaint. "We are waiting to be summoned in court," Adrian Zăbăuianu specified.
