The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, stated at the summit in Croatia that the motion of censure submitted by PSD-AUR is a foreseen scenario, considering the recent tensions. He welcomed the vote in Parliament for the allocation of nine billion euros for the SAFE project, highlighting its pro-European direction.
He also emphasized a "split" between two halves of the pro-European direction, maintaining his equidistance from the motion of censure. Regarding the formation of a PSD-AUR government, the president deemed it "extremely unlikely", citing statements from PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu. Nicușor Dan concluded that early elections are also "extremely unlikely," considering previous political crises that did not result in such elections.
