In an interview for CBS, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that the implementation of the second phase of the agreement with Hamas is conditioned on the complete demilitarization of the Islamist group. Netanyahu stated that all the conditions set by American President Donald Trump are clear: Hamas must give up its weapons and no longer have manufacturing facilities for them in Gaza. He also mentioned that, in the event that Hamas does not disarm, there will be a swift and violent reaction from the United States.

The agreement negotiated by the Trump administration led to the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Netanyahu highlighted the importance of peace and the opportunity to expand relations with other Arab nations, comparing the current situation to the Abraham Accords. He stated that a lasting peace would represent the greatest gift for the Israeli people and for the region.
