Former Prime Minister Adrian Năstase commented on the decision of the dismissed government led by Ilie Bolojan to withdraw the public utility status for the Association of International Law and International Relations (ADIRI), a measure adopted on Friday, May 8. Năstase believes that this decision is unnecessary and affects an institution with a 60-year tradition that has contributed to the formation of the Romanian school of diplomacy. He emphasizes that ADIRI did not represent a burden for the state, having no employees or headquarters, but having significant prestige.

The withdrawal of the status in the anniversary year of the association is seen by Năstase as a gesture lacking diplomacy. ADIRI, established in 1966, brought together the elites of the academic and political environment, and the public utility status was granted during his term as Prime Minister. Năstase is also involved in other associations and foundations, continuing to influence Romanian foreign policy.
