Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, stated that the repeated postponements of the Constitutional Court's (CCR) decision regarding pension reform should not become a blocking strategy. He emphasized the importance of a clear decision to allow the continuation of necessary reforms aimed at eliminating privileges. Abrudean asserted that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and the National Liberal Party will not yield to political or institutional pressures, highlighting that blockages can have serious consequences, including the loss of PNRR funds.

CCR postponed until January 16 the referral to the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) regarding the new project for the reform of magistrates' pensions due to lack of quorum, as the judges proposed by PSD did not show up. The government project provides for raising the retirement age to 65 and limiting the amount of the pension.
