Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, made a visit to Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the travel costs were covered by the state that invited him. In a Facebook post, he detailed the discussions held with his Saudi counterpart, focused on investments in graphite, the development of ski areas in Romania, and facilitating the export of animals. Anti-corruption expert Laura Ștefan commented that, although accepting cost coverage by another state is legal, it can create a perception of inferiority in trade negotiations. Miruță explained that Romania would have had funds to cover its costs but opted for the Saudi invitation as part of a diplomatic strategy. He emphasized the importance of the objectives pursued during these visits, mentioning that the discussions are part of a continuous process of collaboration between the two countries.
