The interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, emphasized, in a conference, the salary discrepancies in the Romanian administration, where positions of equal value are compensated differently, depending on the institution or the proposals of the Local Council. He mentioned that there are significant salary variations between similar positions, with salaries ranging from 10,000 to 32,000 lei. Pîslaru explained that the salary reform, carried out in collaboration with the World Bank, will introduce a system for equating occupational families, correlating salaries based on the complexity of the work. The Minister highlighted that the current salary scales are uncorrelated and disadvantage professions without political leverage. He also mentioned that the number of bonuses, which has reached 151, has become a common practice in administration, complicating the salary situation. Pîslaru emphasized the importance of equity in salary, not just the amount of the salary, to ensure a fair evaluation of positions.
