Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova from the PSD party, stated that the social democrats did not receive the votes of those who protested on Monday evening in Victory Square, supporting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, after the PSD decided to withdraw its political support for him. In an interview on Antena 3, Vasilescu emphasized that she does not understand why they should be afraid of the protests, considering that the protesters were previously critics of the PSD. She mocked the fact that those who now demand the return of the PSD to power are the same ones who protested against the party in the past.
"So what should we do, be afraid of their protests and return to power or what, I don't understand? Do you see how comical it is? What should we interpret? There are some people who have cursed us all the time, for years, and now they are going out in the street asking why the PSD is leaving power. That they can no longer stay with Ilie Bolojan, simple! These people voted for us, so should we care about their opinion on what political behavior the PSD has? No! And then..." said Lia Olguța Vasilescu on Monday evening, on Antena 3
