Interior Minister Marian Neacșu said Saturday, on Antena 3 CNN, that Romanian authorities are closely monitoring any development that could escalate following the armed attack in Kraków. He said that the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the other structures responsible for public safety are prepared to prevent and counter any potential threats to citizens.

The minister expressed solidarity with the Polish people and warned that the intensification of terrorist acts and violent incidents requires vigilance and cooperation between institutions. Neacșu said he had held a briefing with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was being kept informed about developments in situations with the potential to pose risks.

The statements also came amid bomb threats targeting Romanian aircraft, among others. According to the minister, checks carried out on aircraft are stipulated in mandatory security protocols and must be applied in the event of any potential threat. He said that most alerts prove to be false, but police and institutional cooperation at the European level remains essential. The minister assured that the situation is under control.
