President of PNL, Ilie Bolojan: "You cannot be both in government and rebuild the party"

Ilie Bolojan, the president of PNL, stated that the reconstruction of the party cannot take place in parallel with governance, as the latter consumes all the energy of the leaders. In a podcast, he emphasized that PNL made a mistake in the past by getting involved in internal conflicts instead of focusing on the country's issues.

"One of the mistakes made by the National Liberal Party was the so-called festival of democracy when, being in government, mandated by the parliamentarians, by the citizens of Romania to dedicate all our energy to solving problems, PNL generated that conflict between the current prime minister and the party president, and think about it that we were wandering all over the country, visiting all the county organizations, and instead of those in office consuming their energy on Romania's issues, they were consuming it on the internal disputes of the party. We couldn't do that and openly, you cannot be in government and rebuild the party," said interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in a podcast with Radu Buzăianu.
