In an interview, George Simion praised the Trump Administration's decision to remove Romania from the Visa Waiver program as a fair warning about the state of democracy in the country. Although Romania was included in the program in 2025, the US Department of Homeland Security recently decided to revoke it for security reasons. The Romanian MFA expressed regret over this decision and stressed the continuation of diplomatic dialog with the US to protect Romanians' rights.
