The confidential documents, confirmed by former Finance Minister Marcel Bolos, show that President Iohannis, Prime Minister Ciolacu and Senate President Ciucă were informed about Romania's financial risks. The warnings indicated that the budget deficit could exceed the targets and that the lack of urgent measures could lead to default. Although Ciolacu denied the existence of an economic collapse, the former minister emphasized that the deficit had reached 8.43% in December 2024.
