The first vice-president of PNL, Ciprian Ciucu, commented on the internal situation of the party, stating that if tensions persist, a congress will be organized to decide the direction of the party. Ciucu emphasized that the vocal minority within the party, which contests Ilie Bolojan's leadership, seems stronger due to the conflict. He mentioned that if the situation does not improve, the congress will become inevitable, and the party will have to decide between returning to the Ciucă-Ciolacu era or regaining dignity.
Additionally, Ciucu discussed the external influences within the party, stating that they have diminished under Bolojan's leadership. Furthermore, he addressed the issue of the influence of intelligence services, expressing his concern about a possible psychosis within the party related to threats and pressures. After the dismissal of Bolojan's government, PNL decided to enter opposition, but there are internal voices advocating for continuing governance alongside PSD.
