Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of the Capital, chose to take the bus to work, wanting to join the Bucharest residents and send a message to the tram drivers and STB drivers through social media. He wanted to clarify the false rumors that he would cut the salaries of STB employees, emphasizing that this information is untrue. At the same time, Ciucu addressed the financial issues faced by the Bucharest Transport Company, requesting the STB management and the Bucharest Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport to present a plan for reducing expenses and improving efficiency. The mayor mentioned that he would analyze the STB situation through meetings with the management and would collaborate with the unions to avoid insolvency and improve public transport conditions. He also stated that there would be no fare increases until a clear plan is adopted.
