Nicușor Dan congratulated Catherine Connolly on her election as President of Ireland, expressing his desire to collaborate for the development of bilateral relations and European cooperation. Connolly, an independent candidate supported by left-wing opposition parties, won the presidential elections, while her opponent, Heather Humphreys from the center-right, acknowledged her defeat. Heather stated that Catherine will be a president for all Irish people. Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris also added his congratulations, wishing her much success. The presidential term lasts seven years, and the president has a symbolic role, but also important responsibilities in consulting on legislative projects.
