Cătălin Drulă, the USR candidate for the Bucharest City Hall, announced the submission of a bill to Parliament aimed at implementing the results of the 2024 referendum. The project, discussed with President Nicușor Dan, aims to approve the distribution of taxes and building permits by the Capital City Hall. Drulă emphasized that 66% of Bucharest residents supported this measure in the referendum. He called for the project to be adopted in an emergency procedure, stating that it does not introduce new taxes and is essential for the administrative normalization of the city. The USR candidate mentioned that he relies on the support of Bucharest residents and not on political backing, although he confirmed that Nicușor Dan also wants him to become mayor. In the context of the elections on December 7, Drulă avoided commenting on a possible withdrawal in favor of other candidates, emphasizing that the final decision will belong to the voters.
