Siegfried Mureșan and Nicușor Dan, called “errors” of history by Călin Georgescu

Călin Georgescu verbally attacked Siegfried Mureșan and Nicușor Dan after the Monday hearing at the Bucharest Court of Appeal, where he is on trial in a case concerning alleged actions against the constitutional order. Georgescu called the designated prime minister and Nicușor Dan “errors of history.”

Upon leaving the courtroom, Georgescu argued that validating a new government, amid Romania’s economic and social problems, would represent “an obscene concern.” He also stated that any vote granted to the Executive proposed by Siegfried Mureșan would be “an act of betrayal of Romania’s interests.”

In this context, Călin Georgescu added: “Moreover, I believe that the person appointed is in any case an individual who is an error of history, just like the person who appointed him.”

The statements were made while Georgescu is on trial alongside Horațiu Potra and members of the mercenary group led by him, in a case concerning the alleged attempted coup d’état.

Georgescu is also the subject of investigations concerning legionary propaganda and fraud with particularly serious consequences.

In the same statement, he accused the entire political class in power of being “criminals against the constitutional order and reality,” without presenting any additional arguments for these claims.
