He emphasizes that the budget deficit is covered by increasing taxes, but it would have been more efficient to intervene in the areas that generated the deficit, such as pensions and public sector salaries. Băsescu mentioned that the tax increases directly affect citizens, especially those with low incomes, and that fiscal measures could have been implemented gradually to avoid putting pressure on the population. He also notes that President Nicușor Dan is distancing himself from the Government regarding these fiscal measures, emphasizing that the responsibility lies with the Executive. Băsescu expresses his disagreement with the current approach, believing that the private sector should not bear the costs generated by political decisions.
