The Cotroceni Palace will host an important summit for regional security on Wednesday, bringing together NATO leaders, representatives from the United States and Nordic countries. The event, co-chaired by President Nicușor Dan and the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has as its central theme "Delivering More for Transatlantic Security".
The first delegations have already arrived, including the President of Poland and NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte. The summit marks its return to Bucharest after two years, considering the tense regional context. Among the participants are leaders from Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria, the USA, and Ukraine, including President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The agenda includes a welcoming ceremony, which will start at 10:30, plenary sessions, and joint press statements scheduled for 17:00. The B9 format, created in 2015, aims to coordinate NATO states' positions on the eastern flank, following Russia's annexation of Crimea.
