AUR announced on Sunday a ten-point plan for reducing administrative expenses and reforming public institutions.
Among the proposed measures are an annual reduction of expenses by 1% of GDP over the next four years, limiting the number of ministries to a maximum of 10, and reducing the number of parliamentarians to 300. AUR emphasizes that the sale of strategic state companies is excluded and proposes criteria of competence for their management. Additionally, the party intends to stop granting foreign aid until the budget deficit reaches 3% of GDP. AUR also proposes an administrative reform adapted to the realities of 2026, a 50% reduction in management positions in public institutions, and encouraging the development of companies through capital increases.
The leader of AUR, George Simion, stated that these measures will contribute to a more efficient state and to protecting the interests of Romanians.
