The President of the Senate, Abrudean, discussed a potential nomination for the leadership of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), stating that he could not refuse such a proposal, but that it is complicated to think about it at present. He emphasized that, to hold such a position, a specific qualification is not necessarily required, but rather a good understanding of the functioning of the state and institutional relationships.

Abrudean mentioned that the director of SRI must have a good relationship with the political environment, considering that he is voted by Parliament, which is political. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of experience in leading public institutions, given the current regional context.
