43 judges from the courts of the Timisoara Court of Appeal are eligible for retirement, and 31 have announced that they will retire by the end of the year, in the context of the increase in the retirement age. This will worsen staff shortages as the courts face a heavy caseload. Judges emphasize that raising the retirement age is not a sustainable solution, given the working conditions and the impact on the efficiency of the judiciary. Recent legislative changes have also not been accompanied by a proper economic evaluation, raising questions about their viability.
