The Prosecutor's Office next to the Bucharest Tribunal has decided to protest against the bill that modifies the status of magistrates, considering that the legislative interventions are premature and do not address social inequalities. Following the general assemblies convened by the CSM, prosecutors requested a negative opinion for the project, arguing that recent reform measures do not require further modifications. The protest includes the suspension of various judicial activities, and the CSM emphasizes the escalation of hostile attitudes towards judges and prosecutors, fueled by political statements and media campaigns. The project provides a cap of 70% of the last net salary for magistrates' pensions and new retirement conditions.
