The former Minister of Justice, Stelian Ion, stated that the judges' protest against the draft law on special pensions is an uninspired move that will generate a negative reaction from society. He criticized the judges for not proposing amendments but only asking for the withdrawal of the law. Ion emphasizes that this action exceeds the limits of the law and violates the principle of separation of powers in the state. He also mentioned that the concerns of the CSM seem to focus on protecting the rights of judges, instead of addressing issues in the judicial system, such as the rapid prescription of criminal cases and corruption. Judges from across the country have urgently requested the withdrawal of the draft law, citing risks to the rule of law.
