On Wednesday, Ploiești was affected by a strong smell of burning rubber and a "dense haze" phenomenon, which prompted the Environment Guard to initiate a control at the refinery in the northern part of the city. The checks revealed an exothermic chemical reaction during the greening of the oil residues, which resulted in the observed emissions. Although the citizens smelled the odor, the air quality monitoring stations did not register exceedances of normal parameters. The GNM CJ Prahova is continuing investigations to determine the necessary legal measures.
