The Bucharest Transport Company has decided to cancel the procurement procedure for 40 trams of 18 meters from Russia, as Electroputere VFU Pașcani did not provide the necessary documents for the extension of the offer. This decision is influenced by European prohibitions that ban contracts with Russian entities. STB emphasizes its commitment to transparency and compliance with the law in public procurement. The auction was initiated in 2019 but was canceled in 2021 due to lack of funds. Gruia Stoica, the owner of Electroputere, has sued STB to force the signing of the contract.
