The SENS and URS.PDF parties are backing Ana Ciceală in the race for the mayoralty of the capital, with the official launch of her candidacy scheduled for Thursday. SENS, a green and progressive party set up by the team of MEP Nicu Ștefănuță, and URS.PDF, founded by former MP Tudor Benga, are joining forces to promote the candidate. Elections for the capital's mayoralty are expected within 90 days of the vacancy, and talks in the ruling coalition suggest possible joint candidacies from USR and PNL.
