The MKOR survey shows that the majority of Romanians, 74%, lack confidence in the Government's ability to manage the additional revenues from the tax changes, with 64% expressing concerns about the VAT increase from 19% to 21%. Mistrust extends to all political institutions, with low average scores. Romanians demand anti-privilege measures, such as cutting special pensions, before accepting new taxes. Most are planning financial adjustments in the face of possible price hikes, and young people prefer saving over consumption. The survey was based on a sample of 1250 respondents.
