According to Eurostat, Romania ranks last in the EU for using the internet for cultural activities, with only 44% of users watching video content online.

Eurostat data from 2024 shows that Romanians are at the bottom in the EU when it comes to cultural internet use. Only 44% of Romanian users watch TV programs or video content online, compared to 96% in the Netherlands and Finland. Reading news online also ranks low, with only 50% of Romanians doing so. EU-wide, 36% of users have purchased cultural goods online, with streaming services being the most popular.
