In the context of the scandal over the reform of special pensions, Romania's President Nicușor Dan signed decrees on Friday, August 1, 2025, dismissing dozens of magistrates from office across the country. Among those retired are the president of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, Corina-Alina Corbu, and vice-president Rodica Cosma, as well as judge Marian Budă. Also affected were magistrates in key positions at appeal courts and structures such as DIICOT and DNA.
