The fiscal measures adopted by the current government stipulate that priests and monastic staff will no longer be insured under the health care system from September 1, 2025. They will only be able to obtain health insurance by paying an individual contribution in two installments. The only exception will be people on very low incomes. The decision was taken after confirmed income from religious activities and candle sales led to their inclusion among the contributors.
