Starting in 2026, the property tax will increase significantly, by almost 80%, exceeding the initial estimates of the Prime Minister. This increase will also affect war veterans, who until now were exempt. The calculation formula will change, with the tax being determined based on the value per square meter of the property. Additionally, the budget deficit remains high, and the Government has postponed the reform of local administration. The measures are intended to protect the economy, but ordinary citizens will bear the burden of the tax increases.
