Foreign Minister Oana Ţoiu avoided questions about the repatriation of Horaţiu Potra, arrested in the United Arab Emirates, where Romania does not have an extradition agreement.

Oana Zoiu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, refused to comment on the case of Horațiu Potra, suspected of attempted coup, during a press conference. Although Romania does not have an extradition treaty with the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, announced that judicial proceedings have begun for the extradition of Potra and two other suspects. Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have confirmed their arrest, and Romania will respect all legal guarantees in the extradition process.
