On Monday, the CSM's judges' section will consider Lia Savonea's candidacy for the presidency of the High Court of Cassation and Justice. Savonea, a controversial judge, has made notable decisions, including in the 'Revolution' and Mario Iorgulescu cases. In her draft, she emphasizes the need to clarify the roles of the institutions to avoid failures wrongly attributed to the courts. She also warns of the negative impact of excessive media coverage of criminal investigations on the justice process. The mandate of the current president, Corina Corbu, ends in September.
