The Bucharest PRIDE 2025 march gathered over 30,000 participants, celebrating 20 years since the first Pride in Romania. In contrast, the Oradea City Hall banned the Pride March organized by the ARK Association, citing rehabilitation works and other events. Nearly 50 organizations accused the authorities of abuse and announced their intention to sue for violation of fundamental rights. MEPs called for a review of the decision, stressing the importance of freedom of expression and the right to assembly.
