The measure aims to cut budget spending, as Romania had the biggest deficit in Europe last year. The bonus for injurious conditions will be capped at 300 lei gross per month instead of 15% of the basic salary, sparking criticism from the Europol trade union. They say the measure affects at-risk employees and that limiting additional rest leave to 1-3 days a year is unacceptable.
