A new update for Windows 11 has resolved a persistent issue that caused unexpected system restarts when users selected the 'Update and Shutdown' option. This error, which particularly affected laptop users, has been eliminated from versions 25H2 and 24H2, providing a more stable and predictable experience. Users will no longer experience freezes or uncontrolled restarts after updates, reducing the risk of data loss and workflow interruptions. Although the issue has been resolved for Windows 11, Windows 10 users continue to face a similar situation, without any remediation announcements from Microsoft for this platform.
