The Artemis 2 mission has reached its final phase, with the crew preparing to return to Earth on Friday evening, after a record journey of over 406,000 km around the Moon. The landing of the Orion capsule is scheduled for Saturday morning, off the coast of San Diego, and the success of this operation would represent a significant victory for NASA, confirming the agency's ability to send humans back into deep space, an achievement that has not been reached since 1972. Reentry into the atmosphere will be a crucial test for the spacecraft's thermal shield, which must withstand temperatures of 2,700 degrees Celsius. Pilot Victor Glover described this experience as "remarkable," eagerly awaiting the moment. Additionally, communication with the crew will be impossible for six minutes during the reentry maneuver, which amplifies the emotions for both the astronauts' families and the control team in Houston.
