Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a seven-year agreement with OpenAI, through which it will provide access to hundreds of thousands of Nvidia graphics processing units. This collaboration marks an important step in OpenAI's transition from a research lab to a leader in artificial intelligence, considering the company's commitment to invest $1.4 trillion in infrastructure. The agreement has led to a 5% appreciation in Amazon's shares, which now has a market capitalization of $2.73 trillion. AWS, the largest provider of rented computing power, thus strengthens its market position, after being overshadowed by rivals such as Microsoft and Oracle, which have already formed partnerships with OpenAI. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, emphasized the importance of this partnership for scaling advanced artificial intelligence. OpenAI is also preparing an initial public offering that could value the company at $1 trillion.
