NASA has announced that the launch of the Artemis 2 mission, initially scheduled for February 6, will be postponed to February 8 due to unfavorable weather conditions. This mission will mark the first time in over 50 years that American astronauts will fly around the Moon. The delay was caused by the need to conduct a final major test of the SLS rocket, which could not take place due to a cold wave affecting the United States.

Although the new launch date coincides with the Super Bowl, it is not guaranteed that NASA will attempt to launch the rocket on that day. NASA is considering 14 launch windows between February 8 and April 30, including a crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS), which could be affected by the Artemis 2 schedule.
