Mark Zuckerberg has appointed Shengjia Zhao, co-creator of ChatGPT, as chief scientist of Meta Superintelligence Labs, part of an AI investment strategy.

Shengjia Zhao, a former OpenAI researcher and co-creator of ChatGPT, has been named chief scientist of Meta Superintelligence Labs by Mark Zuckerberg. The move is part of a broad artificial intelligence investment campaign, with Meta recently committing $14 billion to Scale AI. Zhao will work directly with Zuckerberg and Alexander Wang, former CEO of Scale AI. The lab will focus on the development of advanced AI models, including the LLaMA family, and Meta plans massive investments in AI computing infrastructure.
