The demand for RAM memory chips has exceeded supply by approximately 10%, and prices have risen significantly. Avril Wu from TrendForce warns that prices will continue to rise, and consumers should buy devices now. RAM chips are essential for device performance, and AI consumes memory on a large scale, leading to a redistribution of resources towards AI-focused products.

Micron Technology, a major RAM manufacturer, is benefiting from this crisis, but technology companies like Dell acknowledge that higher costs will affect final prices. There are no quick solutions, and production capacity will remain limited until 2027, which will keep prices high for consumers.
