Masayoshi Son, the CEO of SoftBank Group, stated in an interview with CNBC that OpenAI is working on a new generation of AI models, which are designed with the help of other artificial intelligence models. This suggests an evolution towards what he calls 'artificial superintelligence'.

Son discussed with Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, who explained that an AI model is already contributing to the design of future models, which could lead to exponentially more advanced intelligence. Son also revised estimates regarding the emergence of superintelligence, believing that it could appear in the next two years instead of ten. He estimates that AI will surpass human capabilities in 70%-80% of fields.

His statements come in the context of a study published by Anthropic, which warns about the risks of the accelerated development of artificial intelligence.

SoftBank, a major investor in AI, compares the impact of the current revolution to the internet boom, stating that the transformation generated by AI will be 50 times greater than that of the dot-com era.
