Google seems to be developing a long-awaited feature that will allow users to change their Gmail address without losing access to existing emails and files. This update was initially observed by the Google Pixel Hub community on Telegram and later mentioned by 9to5Google. If this feature is activated, the old Gmail address will remain active as an alias, allowing users to receive messages sent to the old address and to log into Google services using either of the two addresses. However, there is an important limitation: after the change, users will not be able to create another Gmail address linked to their account for 12 months. So far, this functionality has not been officially mentioned on Google's English support pages, which continue to state that Gmail addresses cannot be changed.
