As governments discuss artificial intelligence and digital governance, data sovereignty is gaining ground. Eric Swider highlighted at the World Government Summit in Dubai the importance of Europe as a market for technologies that restore control over data. Ambitious discussions must be translated into applicable systems, and international events facilitate the alignment of global vision with local execution. Swider proposed a reality intelligence-based platform that allows users to control personal data through private blockchain, in contrast to traditional AI models.

Europe, with regulations like GDPR, is well positioned to adopt these decentralized platforms, raising strategic questions for businesses. A promising example is storing medical records on the blockchain, giving patients total control over their data. Although there are challenges related to scalability and security, data sovereignty is becoming an essential architectural decision for the digital future.
