Apple is set to pay 250 million dollars to settle a lawsuit regarding misleading advertising related to the Siri voice assistant, which was supposed to be launched in 2024. The proposed agreement, filed in federal court in California, comes amid Apple's preparations to unveil an improved Siri with artificial intelligence at the conference in June.

This amount, if approved, would be one of the largest legal settlements for the company, without admitting guilt. The lawsuit was filed by a group of iPhone buyers who claim that Apple promoted non-existent AI features, referred to as "vapourware."

Additionally, Apple has been caught off guard by the increased interest in AI, considering the competition with rivals like Meta. The company has announced partnerships with OpenAI and Google to integrate AI features into its products.

Despite the challenges, investors see opportunities for revenue growth through subscriptions to AI services. Apple has acknowledged that the development of Siri has taken longer than anticipated, but remains focused on delivering innovative products.
