Volodimir Zelenski said short truces, such as those proposed by Vladimir Putin between May 8 and 10, are inadequate for serious peace talks. He characterized these proposals as a "theatrical performance" and stressed that a real agreement cannot be achieved in a few days. Zelensky has called for a total and unconditional ceasefire as a precondition for negotiations, while Moscow fears that such a move would allow Ukraine to regroup militarily.
