Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Donald Trump is exerting unjustified pressure on Ukraine to make concessions in peace negotiations with Russia.

Zelensky emphasized that any plan that would require Ukraine to give up territories in Donbas would be rejected by the Ukrainian people. He criticized Trump for publicly demanding that Ukraine make concessions instead of asking the same of Russia. He also called for a halt to positions along the front line and proposed a face-to-face meeting with Putin to discuss solutions for ending the war.

Zelensky emphasized that any agreement must be subject to a referendum in Ukraine.
