Volodimir Zelensky has held a phone call with Donald Trump, just two days before Russia's ultimatum to stop the war in Ukraine expires. It came in the context of a meeting between US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump also signed an order imposing additional tariffs on India's purchases of Russian oil, underscoring the pressure on Moscow. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he expected announcements on sanctions against Russia.
