YouTube is intensifying parental control measures to ensure the online safety of minors, considering international concerns. Parents can now set a timer for the time their children spend on Shorts, the platform similar to TikTok, thus limiting excessive scrolling of content. Additionally, parents can completely block access to Shorts, giving them total control over the type of content viewed.
YouTube will also allow the setting of custom reminders for bedtime and breaks, encouraging healthy viewing habits. Furthermore, YouTube will facilitate quick switching between parent and child accounts, improving the user experience. These features add to the existing parental controls that allow parents to monitor the activity of teen channels.
